INTERVIEW - MICKEY FACTZ

What's up ya'll? This interview is a personal treat for me! I had the distinct pleasure to interview Mickey Factz! If you don't know who this gentleman is then you're a TARD and you don't know SHIT (or good hip-hop for that matter)! As a matter of fact you probably have Hurricane Chris beads in your head and you rock coogi & girbaud with fake bapes! Okayyyyy maybe that was a bit harsh but thats how much I rock with this dude *pause*!

Aiiiight I'm stepping off my soapbox now! ENJOY ninjas!

micAh! - It seems like XXL magazine hasn't shown you much love lately. they called you out about your name and then the unflattering article about hipsters (a term that you despise). Doesn't it seems like they have something against you?
Mickey Factz - Nah, not at all. They actually gave me credit in that Hipster article. They said my music was artsy. That's dope. Plus I'm in the show and prove section. So that was great. Got some bigger stuff coming soon.

m! - With the recent surge in the popularity of supras are you starting to shy away from them?
MF - Hell no! Why would I shy away from them? Did Run DMC shy away from Adidas? Nah, they embraced it. Now you can't mention Adidas without Run DMC. That will be the same thing with Supra's.

m! - Will there be any collabs with The Neptunes or n*e*r*d on your debut album?
MF - Anything is possible. If a collabo happens it will definitly be with N.E.R.D. A lot of people want that. Including me.

m! - Are you going to be touring? If so are you coming to VA?
MF - Yes I will be touring very soon and I will be touching Va. I love virginia. Better ask somebody.

m! - Since you've been setting the net on fire as of late are you getting groupies?
MF - Groupies were harassing me in day care. At the end of the day, I look at groupies as my peoples. I show them the same amount of love I show everyone else. Ha!

m! - Who's better Kobe Bryant or Lebron James?
MF - Kobe. Hands down. Lebron is dope tho.

m! - When u saw the pictures of Rick Ross donning his former corrections officer garb what did you think?
MF - I was like iiiiiight. That's hot. Everybody got a skeleton in their closet. Whether you accept it not is the true test of your manhood.

m! - If you could have one producer do your whole album who would it be?
MF - Precize. Then N.E.R.D.

m! - Who are you voting for?
MF - Barack Obama. That was a no-brainer.

m! - Which Nas variant do you prefer? Nasty Nas, Nas Escobar, Nastadamus or his current mindset?
MF - Nasty Nas. Because he was nicer. His wordplay and delivery was on point. Plus it seemed like he knew how to pick beats then.

m! - What's the most money you ever dropped on sneakers?
MF - 300 bucks on some supra's.

m! - With the economy in shambles does it make you hit the studio even harder to be successful?
MF - Yea most definitely. I gotta make music that's gonna inspire people. People need a sense of hope. A sense of faith. I wanna be the dude they look to in that time of trouble.

m! - What's the worse prank you ever did to someone?
MF - I called my mom acting like I was the IRS. She was dumb sad at work. It was hilarious.

m! - You ever think about wearing contacts or are your frames a signature look for you?
MF - For now the frames are gonna be my style. I'm gonna be switching up the frames soon. Only time will tell what'll happen to my eyes.

m! - What do you think about kanyes new track "Love/Lockdown"?
MF - Very disappointing. He's wilden for whatever reason. He'll come to his senses eventually.

m! - If someone of significance dissed you on wax would you feel obligated to respond or would you brush it off?
MF - Depends on the situation and how disrespectful the person has gotten. Ima hot head when it comes to that. As of now, my team has gotten me in the mindframe to be easy. So when it happens, everybody will see.

m! - What's your favorite Jordan?
MF - Patent leather joints.

m! - Is it still hard out here for a pimp?
MF - I aint a pimp. Just an artist sharing his influences.

m! - Do you have a side gig outside of music?
MF - Running GFCnewyork.

m! - Lastly tell the readers what we should expect from you and feel free to do any plugs or promotion!
MF - Expect the unexpected. The element of surprise is what's lost in music. Google me if you need to find me.

Tina is that you?

Beyonce' momma on the Soulllllllllll Train in the 80s...

Goddamn Tina Knowles was twirkin' her fuckin' ass off! I see where B learned to shake that booty meat from...

*UPDATE*

Lex aka number one hater of football greatness and resident Houstonian says that this ain't mama tina..

kanYe's mother passing update...

Kanye West's aunt Yolanda told a British tabloid, "There were some moments when she [Dr. West] dieted, some moments when she'd lose the weight, but you know how we do, we pick that weight back up and she finally got to a point where she just wanted to get it done and completely be done with the dieting. It was a quick fix for her to where the dieting just wasn't working. Did Kanye want it done? No. But he's a mama's boy and what mom wanted was what he wanted to make sure she had. And now he's got no mom."

Goddamn that was cold! (ice coldddd...)

Nostalgyia

God this game sucked so bad! The dunk contest was one sided because his Airness would destroy Larry Legend and the 3pt. contest was one sided too because Larry would NEVER miss! Then for the one-on-one matchup! It actually kinda balanced out evenly because year you could beat Larry of the dribble but he's still get more pts dropping tre's on you!

A treat for your ears...

I present: The Polaroid SX-70 *cue dramatic music and pan in slowwwwwwly*

viz Gizmodo:

Polaroid's first fully automatic, motorized camera was an instant design classic. Detailed with tan leather, it folded into a rectangle the size of a paperback book. Andrew Logan, principal designer at Frog Design, admires it for the "immediacy of a favorable output." He explains: "Instead of waiting days to see if you took a good photo, you could take it again right away."

Beautiful Shots!

Christopher Wool for Supreme

Born in Chicago, Christopher Wool relocated to New York City in the early 1970’s. During that time he studied painting and worked as an artist's assistant to Joel Shapiro. In 1984, Wool had his first solo show at the legendary Cable Gallery. Working mainly in black and white, Wool works with a mixture of painterly styles. His earlier works include tightly controlled, gestural drip paintings and canvases utilizing decorative rollers on white backgrounds to produce floral and gate-like images.

In 1987, Christopher Wool began his black and white stenciled word paintings. Wool carefully chose words and phrases for these pieces and the letter composition he applied set his work apart from the stencil art category. Examples like “Riot”, “Prankster”, or “Sell The House Sell The Car Sell The Kids” force viewers to go one step beyond reading into deciphering.

Since his first one-man show Christopher Wool’s work has been shown at the Whitney Biennial 1989, Museum of Modern Art, New York, the New Museum of Art Lucerne, Switzerland, and Contemporary Museum of Art, Los Angeles.

This Fall, Supreme will release a series of three limited edition skateboard decks designed by Wool.

Available at the NY, LA and online shops on October 2nd. Available in Japan on October 4th.
